Catching up on Halloween stuff!

Yes! It is almost 2 weeks late, I know. I've just been a bit busy lately but here it is! Halloween Blog Post! Oh please take note that I have changed my blog's design. Woot-woot!

I love Autumn! Have I said that enough? I LOVE AUTUMN!!!

I love the colors! I still am not very good with the cold, but Autumn clothes are the prettiest ever!

There are three things I will be talking about in this post, and maybe it will not be too long. Maybe. Haha. In chronological order ---

Holiday World 2016

I don't think I was able to blog about Holiday World last year, but we did go. It was Oct. 24 (US timezone) when we went -- I think. This year we went on Oct. 23! We didn't even know that we went there last year around the same time, until the Facebook "Memories" showed up on our Timelines. I had a video on Youtube on it, and I also uploaded a bunch of pictures on FB which you can view if you click HERE.

Holiday World is located at Santa Claus, Indiana. Yes, the town's name is Santa Claus! The amusement park used to be called "Santa Claus Land" until they've expanded so much, and added more attractions that are in Holiday themes, thus the new name! Cool concept right?

One Whole Year

I can't believe it! Really? It's been 1 whole year since my husband, my now toddler, and I came to the US from the Philippines. The longest flight I have ever been on, ever. My son's 1st plane ride. It was good and bad, travel wise, but we arrived safely, and hungry.

It's been a wild ride, this past year. There are so many things that has happened, it feels like everything in my life was on fast forward, but on pause at the same time. I have experienced all the four seasons, finally. My favorite, as I thought it would be, Autumn.

Florida 2016: A Walker family vacation and adventure

Blog Part 1

Arrival, Day 1, Day 2
I have no idea how to put such a big vacation into one blog post, so I thought I would do it in parts. I probably will do it into 2 parts. I would do one per day, but I feel like that should have been blogged as the day ended which was not possible for me then.

Arrival

This was my 2nd time travelling with my baby by plane, thank goodness I had my mother-in-law with me. She is just an angel of a big help! I don't think the journey to Florida would have been fun if it was me and husband only with our baby. xD Llyr was so good on the plane! He just played and watched the clouds and he was a really good boy all in all. We couldn't have asked for a much better time with him. We got to the hotel to meet my husband and my mom-o-in-law who drove all the way to Florida from Kentucky. It was a 14 hour drive, crazy, right? After we settled in we decided to have our supper, and it was weird because most of the fast foods and restaurants were closed! Unless you were at the drive-thru. So we had to look for another place to eat at. Luckily, the owner of the restaurant we were standing in front of, told us there is a place called Ale House which was still open and will be open until 2AM. So we went there! The food was REALLY good, and we had a fun meal. *wink wink*

Day 1: Disney Springs
a.k.a Downtown Disney

click the picture to make it bigger

This place was so much bigger than I thought it would be. There was a not-so-hidden area that I didn't see until my brother-in-law pointed it out. Okay, my husband pointed it out too, but *cough* ^_^ So, we went way inside of the downtown area to find a glorious Lego place! If I had known sooner, we would have been there faster. The best part of this area, for me, is the Ganachery -- they have awesome chocolate!

Day 2: Universal Studios Orlando and Island of Adventures
a.k.a the Wizarding World of Harry Potter

click the picture to make it bigger

THIS WAS THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO ME YET!

Florida has been awesome so far. The weather was awesome, I was getting tired of the dry air, haha. The food has been so good, seafood is love. The sights, wow, I never thought I would palm trees until I stopped seeing them. Then my mind was blown by the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! It was a DREAM COME TRUE. I can picture myself going there everyday and still finding new things everyday.

I had a long talk about getting these tickets that was a park-to-park for 1 day, because only if you get these tickets would you be able to go on the Hogwarts Express which was also an attraction.

We arrived there with a problem. We had no tickets yet, and we needed the person with the credit card so it can be printed. Well, rain on my parade, why don't ya. But it was fixed because of the positive people around me, the Walker family is really a 'we'll-fix-it!' bunch. Gotta love that. Also, I have to mention that this day, my baby was with his lola and lolo (grandparents) and they went to Animal Kingdom.

So we were able to get in around 9:10AM instead of my wish to be inside before 8AM, haha. Anyway, I'm so glad we were able to go in. I was such a drama kid while waiting for my ticket. I thought I would not be able to go in, I was silently breaking into pieces on the inside. Anyway, we got in! We made a rush to go to Diagon Alley! Of course, the main purpose was Harry Potter.

click the picture to make it bigger

We got to the King's Cross Station where you can ride from Diagon Alley (London Underground) to Hogsmeade (a little beyond Hogwarts). Right in front of it was the Knight Bus with Stan and Ernie. ^_^ Loved Stan, he was so in character! Loved the bus too, I wish we could enter it xD

The moment you pass through the brick wall, you'd see how glorious Diagon Alley is, with the Gringotts Dragon in the middle which breathes fire every 20 minutes (give or take).

There are a lot of shops in Diagon Alley, and it's pretty much on point. It was unbelievable how you would just forget about the Florida or wherever you're from because you cannot see anything else but Diagon Alley. Be immersed in this magical place! It is breathtaking to be there, surrounded by your magical-kin and muggle-born witches and wizards alike. If you have some $$$ to spare (more like saved-up) you can buy your wizard's robe, wand, and everything! My husband bought us wands, and they are interactive, so we just performed charms, and hexes and jinxes everywhere!

After you've had your fill of Diagon Alley head to the train station where you can find Platform 9 3/4.

It's beautiful.

You get to go through the Platform like Harry did, I have a video of it here. <-- click

The Hogwarts Express was a big attraction, since both your window and door actually shows you scenes from the movie, it was magical. Taking videos inside was not really allowed, but you get to enjoy it, it's really good. Spoiler Alert: I high-fived a Dementor. xD

click the picture to make it bigger

Hogsmeade was amazing! It was not as big as what Diagon Alley seemed to be, but the everything would just make a Harry Potter fan feel at home. It's a good thing we didn't eat lunch at the Leaky Cauldron, because the food at the Three Broomsticks was awesome! We had ribs, and chicken, mashed potatoes and corn. Oh it was the biggest most expensive meal I've paid for so far, but it was so good. Also, the butterbeer was fantastic! If you're willing to fork off some $$$ then you can have a souvenir mug.

Sorry for the crappy photo of the Hogwarts Castle, I was too short to have a great photo. T^T but this was the BEST RIDE ever!! It was supposed to be a simulation of riding a broom, it was so fun! There is also a Hogwarts Castle tour. At the Escape to Gringotts ride which I forgot to mention, there were moving paintings of goblins, which looked like a screen, sorry, it just did. The moving paintings in the Hogwarts castle though was so unbelievably good! It looked just like paintings. It was everything I imagined and dreamed of seeing. I just wish that they had the Black Lake like in USJ (I really wanna go there). The Journey to the Forbidden Forest is the best ride there by far!

Anyway, I have to end this post now, or I will spoil too much. I just had the best time there. 2.18.16 will forever be remembered. My trip "home"

Oh snow !

This is a late post about something from last weekend.

The month flew by! As usual, I'm experiencing new stuff since I've been here in the US for maybe 6-7 months? Anyway, I experienced my first Blizzard!

Not this one

An actual snow storm. And we were outside playing! xD
Here's a video of what we did:

Also, my husband made me a Snow Cat!!

It was technically a natural disaster, but we turned it into fun! - Kyle Walker (my husband)

The month is ending soon and I'm so excited about February! Stay tuned to know why!

Welcoming 2016: New Year + My Birthday

Wow. It's 2016 already! It really snuck up on me!

So many things has happened, and suddenly we're jumping to a different year!

My husband and I had a quiet New Yer's Eve (compared to all others who went to parties amd stuff), we stayed home with Mamaw (my mother-in-law's mom) and Llyr. I really didn't want to be away from my baby for New Year's so we opted to stay home. :) It was an awesome day nonetheless.

We went to Sam's Club for diapers and wipes, and then we headed to Walmart for groceries, and let's just say some holiday miracles happened. x)

My husband really got lots of pogi points this time.
He got me my 12 fruits, and bought sparklers, made traditional Filipino candies and desserts, and awesome dinner for New Year's Eve. Oh, he got me a new phone case which looks super awesome!

I'm so glad we got to celebrate with Mamaw too, and she and Llyr played and played, and we told stories and it was like a sleepover! The best part of it is that my family from the Philippines Skyped with us all through out of NYE. Love love love family.

Last day of being 26 well spent. x)
My mom even greeted me before the day ended. xD
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then the next day~
I turned 27.
Haha, it was actually a fun and funny day! It's so funny because during Christmas, I was asked what I wanted for my birthday, and I answered 'a surprise birthday party'. And oh my gosh, they threw me one!
My day started ever so norma--wait, maybe not.
Kyle let me sleep in.. hmmm..
Llyr didn't even go to the room to wake me up like usual.. hmmm..
I got to take a loooong shower..
Mom took Llyr early and so I even got extended time for preparation..
I got to spend time on my clothes and make up..
But I thought it's just because we had time, and well, it's my day after all.
Then lots of phone calls arrived for Kyle, not a single one for me. They told us we were to go to church to take the tree down, so .. ok. Then we got there and mom called Kyle in, so I was taking my time and Kyle came back out to get me.
I asked him, 'is this my bday party?' Haha. He said, 'no.' あやし。。x)
We came inside and it was dark and we went to the left instead of the right side, and they said
'HAPPY BIRTHDAY!'
"I knew it!" I yelled.
Haha, Kyle said I've just always been good at guessing stuff for me xD that's also funny because before I got to open my big present I guessed what it was.
CLICK HERE TO WATCH ME OPEN THE GIFT
I was so excited about the gift, I just had to message my mama right away!
That wasn't the end! Because after my surprise birthday party, Travis (Kyle's uncle), and Cortney (Trav's girl), and Kyle and I had a double date at the Buffalo Wild Wings (as if we weren't full enough from late lunch, haha).  I was able to Skype with my mom a bit. B' dubs, as it's called, is popular for the chicken wings, which you can order from mild to HOT.  This is a special place for me because it's the very first place we got to eat at when we landed to the US. ^_^
After that, we went to a bookstore called Books-A-Million, where we got a huge discount for our haul!! Kyle has a new game, I have 3 new books, and Llyr has 4 new books!
It doesn't even end there!! I got to fly my birthday lantern!!
It was the coolest way to end a super awestatic birthday! Yes, I made up a word! Because there is no other way to describe my day!
Things may try to bring us down, but I'm not going to take it.
I'm 27 and I think I'm starting it right.
PH Christmas: I will miss you.
This will be my first Christmas in the United States, and frankly I can't stop but think it wouldn't be the same.
I don't want that to be a bad thing for my in-laws and all, but it's just going to be totally different right?
I've been here in KY, USA for about 6 months?
(Kyle said 5 months and a half, okay Mr. Math Wizard.)
There has been so many things to keep me from getting actually homesick.
{4th of July, Summer Bible School, Llyr's bday, Karaoke nights with Dad-o, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, taking my Permit test, the urgency of learning how to drive, new food, new places, being with my in-laws with work and play, being volunteered for stuff, haha}
But, with Christmas coming, this will be hard blow.
I REALLY love Christmas! It's not like I'm going to hate it this year, but it would be just -- different.
Things You Never Knew You Would Do
Have you ever just woken up, and stare at the ceiling, thinking "What am I doing?"
I mean, there can be a lot of things you'd swear up and down you would not do, or even the things you would do (and you think it's the exclusive thing you would).
Then reality kicks you in the butt, and presents you something you would never even dream of.
From when I was 11 years old, I have set plans for myself:
  • I will get married when I'm 24-25
  • I will have twins. Boy first then girl will come out. xD
  • I will go to Japan and live there (study)
  • I will be a comic illustrator and writer
  • I will work with my favorite mangakas from Funny Komiks.
You know, things like that. Then it was a little change from when I was 13-16:
  • I will go to Japan to study, then I will work there, and get married to a Japanese man.
  • I will have twins.
  • I will go to Hogwarts.
  • I will be a novelist.
Turns out, things don't work that way. Haha.
Because God has plans for you, and no matter how much you run away, it will chase you! xD
Then you'd know it's a great plan.
I have accomplished some stuff from my list.
  • I got married when I was 24 -- about 3 weeks before I turned 25.
  • I may not have twins (right now), but the boy did come first! And he is a beautiful baby boy!
  • I have made a comic, and a novel -- it might be kid-ish, but I can say I have started somewhere. AND I HAVE HAD A CONVERSATION WITH MY 2 FAV. MANGAKAS. Gosh, you guys do not know how giddy I was! I could not breathe!
  • Now, I live in the US with my husband, and son. I may not be in Japan (YET), but we have our own house, and we are blessed. I will still go to Japan though. :D
  • I went to Hogwarts.
So here I am now, blogging about broken plans (or so to say), but I only think that way because I keep putting my own in front of God's. But when you learn to accept, you'd discover how much better His plans are. They always are.
But.
I will still go to Japan.
And.
I will have a baby girl.
Just because.
I am God's daughter.
I can POST!
Today, I can finally post this.
I'm now at the gate to board for my flight to U.S.A.
I'll be leaving my home country and going to a foreign land. My blog will probably have more updates compared to before. Follow my adventures on this platform.
I will also update on youtube (maybe).
Send your prayers for me and my family.
PARENTING
I have taken my Professor's advice about letting time have my emotions die down a bit before writing stuff down. So that when you read back on it -- it's less yucky, and tormenting. Having a clearer perspective on something that you are subjective about so you can be objective about it.
My husband and I (I finally got used to saying this without cringing xD) --
attended a parenting seminar.
Last Day of the Year
This year has been awesome and very emotional for me. I got married before Christmas last year and the later part of 2014 went by so quick!
OMG. 2014:
My 1st Christmas with husband
My 1st bday with my husband
My 1st trip to Ilocos
Discovered I was pregnant
My 1st overseas trip
Got yellow card and philhealth
Got a new passport
Found out my baby's going to be boy
Got a 3D ultrasound
Became 61kg. OMG. I've always been 45kg.
Had baby Kristofer Llyr!
We had great times, but I've been very hormonal. Veeeeery. I've had a lot of sleepless nights and it's most probably not ending with this year. But that's ok because I have a beautiful baby boy who's growing quite well. ♥
Without a doubt I can say to myself I had a good year. (๑・ิ-・ิ๑)
This is me and him failing at a selfie.
Baby Kristofer Llyr's 15th Day!
I could not really blog, play games, read manga, go on tumblr, and facebook since Llyr has been born. It's not bad, but I just feel like this blog post is overly late.
I'm plastered to my baby as he is to me so, I decided to look for another blog app, and tested it yesterday actually.
Llyr was born September 15, 2014. He was 3.25kg and 53cm. He's quite long, so he looks a bit skinny compared to Filipino babies with the same weight.
He eats and sleeps a lot. He's quite nocturnal though.
Look at that angry face.
And that big yawn.
I completely adore him.
36.2 weeks!
It's so close!
Yet I feel like I've been pregnant in forever! > <
I'm still not used to how heavy I am now. I also don't want to waddle, so I still try and keep walking straight, even though it is actually more comfortable to relax and just waddle. ^^;;
Fundic Height: 34 inches (for Filipinos this quite big I think)
Baby's Heart beat rate: 132 beats per minute
For the first time in my pregnancy, I now have mild edema.
I seriously look like I have been having it since my 4th month, but NO, my feet just became a size bigger, okay. It's was fat. Not swelling. > <
Aaaaand by the way I had the baby shower last week August 23, and here are the stuffies and pics for update :3
The awesome gifts from my friends/cousins <3
The awesome highlights of our afternoon~ :3
Of course we did karaoke too but I didn't take pictures anymore.
We played 4 games:
Don't Say "Baby"
Pin the Sperm on the Egg Cell
Draw the Baby
Guess the Title of the Song
(maybe I'll expound on those in another blog post next time)
me and the gifts.. uhmm.. yes, I made it smaller so you won't focus on how big my face has become.
T^T
Letters from my friends/cousins to baby Llyr ;3
The people I love who made it possible :3
2 people are not in the picture T^T
But they're equally awesome.
My dear Anne, and my cousin Dan (they went home early).
Of course my mama, and papa who were there, and to mom and dad who gave us a surprise something. ^^
JESUS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE BLESSED US.
A Celebratory Post!
I have 1 thing to rant about and 3 things to celebrate about!^^
The bad first.
I went to work by cab today so that I can sleep for about 40 minutes or so. I arrived at 7:05JPT I had to set up the computer for less than 5 minutes and then I can go nap. BUT NO.
The internet was down and I had to go to the Old Office to use the computers there -- uhh.. how troublesome!! I want to be in my station. So I went to the other office just to log in, and went here again and asked what happened. I had to climb on another teacher's desk, and see if I can reach the plugs.
Yes, it was dangerous, and because I'm short -- even if I stretch my arms out I would not be able to reach still and I might fall down and hurt the baby! It already was 7:17JPT when other teachers arrived and I asked the help of someone, and finally...
Everything was plugged in, and by 7:22 the internet connection was back.
-_- So annoying.
It was just stressful, and there were teachers here by 5:00JPT, but they didn't know what to do -- so if I hadn't arrived early then we'd have to all wait for a technician to arrive at 10:00JPT. NO WAY. So I felt the need for this:
Since I was not able to get my nap -- I deserve a snack!
A chocolate snack!!
(I'm gonna share of course -- because I still should not have too much sweets. T^T)
NOW ON TO THE GOOD NEWS!!
1st this is my post number 101!! The last baby update was the post number 100!
Weeeeee~
2nd tuesday of this week -- I got to eat at 31 ice cream!! FINALLY!!
It was a cheat day! Lemme have my ice cream~ ღ
31 ice cream or known to western countries as Baskin Robins finally opened in our country once again, and my friends and I are one of the 1031 lucky people who could get junior ice cream cones for FREE!
3rd and the best news for today is that I'm on my 32nd week now!! Welcome 8th month count!!
Just one more month and I will see my baby boy and hug him and squeeze him and call him george Llyr! ღ
It's getting more and more exciting for me~
Please continue praying for Kristofer Llyr
Oh -- also my urinalysis had normal results :3 so happy, it means the baby's healthy and will be okay too.
Thank you Jesus! We praise Your Holy name!
Baby at 25.2 weeks!~
The baby is really moving a lot now!
I also feel like my body is quite heavy -- I don't know how it'll be like next month.
It's exciting everyday for me since the baby's movements are becoming quicker, and just it feels more like waves and tumbles more than before~
I have read though that it the next months, the baby will start moving less, since there'd be less space for her/him to move around. Actually my tummy already feels quite full o3o and harder. Also, I have read somewhere that the baby would already be 13.6 inches or so by now. I am in awe about how these things happen, and just rejoice in the miracle of God. The baby is 25 weeks only and  already more than a foot? How can s/he even fit in my tummy?! Praise Jesus!
I've been really wanting to make a baby book. I guess I have to do some scrap booking? Or should I just buy a pre-made one? I want it to be like a journal of my pregnancy. I think it'd be fun, and hopefully when my baby's a toddler, she'd like to look at it or something. ^^
Just 3-4 weeks more and I can go for an ultrasound!! Yay!! Thanks to mom and Kyle~ :3
The "Weird" Kind of Excitement
Most people who know me, would know how afraid I am of doctors.
My mama used to work in the hospital, and I was often with her there after school -- so it would be odd to be uncomfortable of the hospital, no? Uhh.. Well, I stayed only in the HR, Social Service, Records, and Pharmacy offices. I stayed AWAY from the doctors.
The reason for this was, I think, trauma from when I was a toddler. I had a major surgery because of hernia before I turned two years old, and I often get scared seeing doctors because in the mind, they have syringes and the freaking hurt! This is a little limited to doctors in white though. I think.
Recently, I've been really excited to my once a month visit to the doctor though! ^^ My OB. She was my mama's OB too, she does not accept the fact that she is nice though. ^^;; But she is. Yes, I still shy away from her a bit, because I get nervous but -- the fact that I can hear my baby's heartbeat, and she can tell me things about my pregnancy, my baby and everything -- I'm very happy!
Baby's already 24 weeks and 2 days (6 months and 2 days)
Today I met her again, and she was nicer than the last few times. ^^ I dunno but she seemed to have agreed with me more today than before. She also put my mind to ease about stretch marks, belly button popping out, edema, and others. I'm not worried about those stuff though because to me my baby's health is priority -- I don't have to show my belly to people anyway hahaha. I also know my navel has been weird from before so yeah.
Baby's heartbeat today's 136bpm.
Also I've redeemed myself from the weighing scale problem!! ^w^
Last month I gained about 9lbs, this month only 4lbs! :P Mainly because I lessened my rice and snack in-take.
Anyway, in the next 2-3 weeks I need a OGCT (sugar test thingy) to make sure I have gestational diabetes. I claim it a normal result already! In Jesus' name!
Right now, the hardest thing for me is sleeping. >_< I just can't find a good position to sleep in. If I'm on my side, my body feels so heavy and my hips ache (it feels bruised), I seriously need a maternity pillow or something.. WHY ARE THEY EXPENSIVE! > <
Then next month on the 28th or 29th week I can try to go for 3D ultrasound! Hopefully I have the money to do that -- or I'll get a normal one for just the gender determination. ^^
That's all for now!! :)
Is it okay to rant?
Hello hello to 22 weeks! I'm very happy that I am pregnant, and May 22, 2014 my baby in my tummy turned 22 weeks and it's awesome! That day, baby moved A LOT, it was like s/he was celebrating with me. So I was really really happy -- even though there was a 1 hour stress at work. (Yes, 1 hour ... hmmm...)
So, Kyle and I really want to have a baby girl. We are really praying for it.
Whenever people tell me, "It will be a boy, let's bet on it!" or "I want you to have a boy." or "You're showing signs of having a boy!" I get really annoyed. -_-;; Why? Because I WANT TO HAVE A GIRL > < If God gives me a boy, then I will be happy of course because my baby is God's miracle and gift for my husband and I, but I would really be very happy to have a girl as a first born. Little girls are so fun, and cute and they can have oh soooo cute stuff.. Boy stuff are seriously limited and all look the same.. ;3; It's my first baby, I really wanna have fun with the baby (yeah -- I imagine it to be like playing -- I know the responsibilities but nonetheless I really want to have a baby girl).
I know others have fun turning pregnancies into a guessing game, but please stop stressing me out with it. I do sometimes feel as if every time I pray to have a baby girl, there are people who counter-pray it. TT_TT Please don't do that.
It's my husband and my baby right? Please stop turning into a betting game, or just a regular game. Please stop antagonizing my prayers. We really do want to have a baby girl.
I dunno has any other mom-to-be ever experienced the same thing I am going through right now?
18.1 weeks!! Woohoo
Although on the ultrasound gestation age is 18.5 weeks. ; 3; weird weird.
I dunno about this -- I guess my baby's bigger than average size? ; 3;
I hate not being 1st in line whenever going to the doctor. The time I can be the next patient is so vague, so I just prayed and also texted my husband and stuff who was also getting anxious with my in-laws. ; 3;
Too bad the doctor there did not allow skype.. So we recorded a video which is good for my in-laws and my parents to see, but cannot be uploaded on youtube ; 3;
Well my tummy was so exposed so... NO.
So here's a look at the ultrasound pics!
I have NO idea why the left side is always like this .. uhhh..
I don't know what it is. It's never been explained to me.
According to the ultrasound report:
Baby is now 260grams and is 18.5weeks (gestational age) -- really it shoudl be 18.1weeks, so I don't understand this part, don't bite me. The baby's head circumference is 16.3cms (which is like 19weeks already), and the heart rate is 155bpm. ^^
For some reason my expected due date changed from Sept. 25 to Sept. 21 !! o_o
GLORY TO GOD FOR HE IS GOOD.
MY BABY'S ALIVE AND WELL.
The gender .. well .. the baby closed it's thighs and legs together, so it could not be seen.
^^; I guess s/he does not want us to know yet.
I'm very happy to know my baby's healthy, science confirms God's presence in my life once more~
God is always taking care of us, sustaining the life of our baby, keep s/he healthy in His love, protection, and grace~ ^^
