Ace Attorney

 Every time I feel like I want to play a game that feels familiar but I don't want to play Pokemon or restart a Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons save. I'd pick up Kyle's old NDS (Nintendo DS), he gave it to me -- I used to play NDS games on emulators only, and continue my Ace Attorney save wherever I left off.

AFTER A LOOOOOONG BREAK!!

AN OTAKU EVENT!!

It has been forever, it felt like, since the last time I was able to hype about anime, manga, jpop, or anything otaku-ish. My blog is named such because of my love for Japan and it's pop-culture. Being a mom does not mean you lose yourself, but you gain a new side of you, and still have room for that original you. ^^ So yes, I still am an otaku at heart. 

I am laying off anime a for a bit though, because I only watch them subtitled, and I'm afraid my baby will be very confused with language, he already hears English and Filipino from me, if I add Japanese this early, there might be a consequence? I don't know, maybe I'm over-thinking it haha. That's me though, I worry. I always say I was born worried -- but actually I was born asleep xD So my mom ended up with c-section although was a tiny tiny baby. (I KNOW I'M STILL SHORT, knock it off!)

What is an Otaku?

Otaku (お宅 / おたく) is a Japanese word that originally refers to another's "home" or family.

Animators like Haruhiko Mikimoto and Shōji Kawamori used the term among themselves as an honorific second-person pronoun since the late 1970s.

But later, it is used to people who has interests in things that are done at home.
Such as watching anime, reading manga, and playing video games.

Who would've known?

In modern times though, the word "otaku" has now been widely used as a Japanese slang which mean "geek". The connotation of it is that it's only for people who're addicted to anime, manga, cosplay and video games. But this word can also be used to people who is a "fan" of a certain hobby or past time, even for watching sports, cooking food, shopping, and even martial arts.

The former Prime Minister of Japan Taro Aso also claimed himself to be an otaku, using this subculture to promote Japan in foreign affairs.

Sadly the word has turned to be an offensive term used for people who're set apart from the world because of liking something that is not the 'reality'.

Stop the ignorant stereotyping.
